Let us introduce you to Push Strategist

What is your business and where is it located?

Push Strategist LLC is a consulting firm located in Minneapolis, MN. With covid limitations we can support you virtually at this time or with safe methods in person.

What made you start your business?

I discovered who I am, what my purpose was. You have to develop that understanding in order to be successful in business or anything else. Your confidence and clarity on your purpose is what can sets you apart because you are your brand. I opened my first business in my early 20s, I was in NY and had two shops. I was on my 2nd clothing line and was working on training several start-ups who hosted their products in both stores.  During that time, I learned so much. I didn’t even realize I was doing business coaching! It came with ease to help and guide others from what I learned. There were many wins on my journey, but also some losses. I consider both a blessing because they taught me so much! I developed a gift of strategy through those experiences which I use with my clients today.  Several years down the line, I fell into recruiting. That fall was destined from God. Through recruiting, I discovered another joy which was encouraging people.  I was able to meet many great individuals from around the world. I assisted them with getting into their dream careers through employment visa sponsorship in addition to providing them with training and development on workplace readiness. Being a first-gen Liberian/Nigerian American, I understood the difficulty of getting a seat at the table for minorities especially those of African Descent. I decided to take my two callings to business and helping people become their best selves and put them together. now push people to their purpose in business, career and beyond through creating Push Strategist LLC

What makes your service/product different from others?

What differentiates us from competition is the personal development aspect. We understand success starts from the inside out. By providing various personal development tools we help our clients gain clarity who they are and what their goals are. From there we offer consulting in areas of career and business.

How can we support you?

I am continuing to look for opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals and create a professional network in the Twin Cities. Because my services are niche, I have the potential to teach and train businesses on the benefits of foreign sponsorship. I am looking to first work on building a network. Thank you in advance for opening the doors and if anyone can create networking opportunities please let me know.

Lamina Aesthetics Review

I had the pleasure of meeting Tisha last year when she worked for a different company. She has now branched out and started her own company, Lamina Aesthetics. Lamina Aesthetics is open in Minnetonka, MN. It is a beautiful space filled with relaxing décor, a fireplace and music. This along with Tisha's calm demeanor make for a great escape, even if only for an hour.

Tisha offers a variety of services ranging from teeth whitening and facials to body contouring treatments. I tried dermaplaning. It can seem scary, because your skin is being scraped with a blade/scalpel. However, Tisha did an excellent job of explaining the procedure and kept me informed throughout the process. This was imperative for a newbie like myself. She gave me aftercare instructions to make sure there were no issues with my skin. I left feeling smooth and with a noticeably brighter and less hairy face.

I am excited to go back to visit her and try new services. If you are interested in her services be sure to follow her on Instagram or visit her Website. Be sure to tell her that Bobbie from FamilyFindsMN sent you when booking your appointment.

This is an image from all the hair and junk that came from my face.

Online Yard Sale Coming Up

It's time to clean out our closets, but Covid won't let us be great. We found a way to have a yard sale while still being safe. We will be hosting an online yard sale from 09/12/2020-09/17/2020. There will be options for contactless pickup in two cities or shipping on some items. For more information please head to the Facebook  Event Link

Move over peanut butter. There is a new nut butter in town.

With flavors like Sundried Basil, Turmeric Maple, and Truffle Herb you would be sure you are trying some form of dip or hummus. Nope. Those are the flavors of a nut butter. The company who produces these savory flavors is Humble Nut Butter.

Humble Nut Butter is a local business bringing you a vegan treat for your veggies, wraps, or crackers. It is sold on Amazon as well as at all Whole Foods locations in the Twin Cities.

We were a little skeptical of how these nut butters would taste because we have only had sweet flavors in the past. We were surprised at how much we did like them. Anton and I could not come to a consensus when ranking the flavors. My top two were Turmeric Maple and Truffle Herb. Anton's top two were Sundried Basil and Truffle Herb. The turmeric flavor reminded me of curry. I think it would be perfect on pancakes. It has the perfect amount of kick. Anton thinks the Sundried Basil could easily replace any hummus he has had. He thinks it would be best on crackers or a wrap sandwich.

Now that you heard our thoughts we would encourage you to support this Woman-owned business. If our review is not enough just remember that this company is vegan, gluten free and made with organic  ingredients.

The lesson of the week is to continue to try new things. We have always been adventurous when it comes to food and we are happy this product did not disappoint. For more information please go to Humble Nut Butter Website

Business Spotlight- Giving It A Voice

We know people have been wondering, What is “Giving It A Voice”?

We want to be careful not to limit how we serve by using a bunch of titles. Instead, we would like to share with you the background and vision.

We believe the things we go through in life, the things we struggle with, but also overcome become a part of our purpose. Our Founder, Detra Miller’s family moved to Minnesota when she was two. As a little girl her passion was to help others and speak up for those who could not speak up for themselves. Detra’s desire to connect her childhood passion and to be more hands-on in the community inspired her mission to empower others, to not only discover their voice, but use it to create change.

“Giving It A Voice” is an organization that was created to empower people to break free from the bondage of silence, discover their inner truths, and use their voice. We are dedicated to creating platforms to help transform pain into purpose.

We are taking the initiative to help as many people as we can to discover their truths, while upholding one rule that can't be broken; you are SAFE to let your guards down and be vulnerable. We have to be on guard in the world every day; in this space we do not gossip or tear each other down.

Programming will include, but not be limited to, community workshops and annual retreats focusing on developing self-worth, accountability, discovering identity, purpose, finding your voice, and how to positively impact the world. We will be intentionally looking for opportunities to create events and additional opportunities to address the needs of our community. Our desire is to remain hands on and connected with those we directly serve so that as the climate changes, and needs shift, so can we/we can as well.

We believe in unity and collaborating with other organizations in this movement.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner- Nashville Coop Review

Listen! I have been stalking the social media for Nashville Coop since I found out about them. I saw their truck in my neighborhood, but it was always after I had ate or I already had dinner plans. This week I made a plan to get me some chicken! Today was the day!

I love that they have two trucks. There is typically one in the Minneapolis area and one near St. Paul. We found the St. Paul truck on Grand Ave. Surprisingly there was not a long line today. They have three different options for meals and we got one for each of us.

1. Chicken strip meal

2. Chicken sandwich on a buttered bun

3. Chicken sandwich on Texas toast

There are also levels of spice from mild to HOT. We choose the coop which is the medium spice level.

So how was it? It was GOOD! The chicken has flavor. The outside is crispy, but the inside is still juicy. The portion sizes were big compared to other food trucks for the same price point. We even have leftovers! The Coop sauce served on the side reminds me of Raising Cane's, but with a different twist. I am so happy I got to try it and I will definitely try it again soon.

Returning the support! Guavas Cuban Cafe

When George Floyd was brutally murdered we immediately said that we were no longer going to patronize businesses that didn't support us and people who looked like us. The next day Guavas Cuban Cafe bravely called out the injustice and told MPD their discount would stop immediately and go to the real heroes, healthcare workers. They didn't wait to jump on a bandwagon. They did it immediately. Today we supported Guavas and I'm happy to say the food was good. Pictured is the Chicharron De Pollo. Check them out and don't forget the plantains.

Here are a few other businesses that immediately showed support before it was popular to do so.
